Our Eco Efforts

At Teddy’s Cotton, we’re always looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment to ensure we’re socially responsible. In an effort to put this into practice, we care deeply about the details.

 Our Fabric

organic cotton stalk

We use 100% Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified, longer-staple yarn. GOTS certifies that the yarn we have sourced is made from organic fibres, meets the certification's ecological and social criteria, has been vetted throughout all processing stages and has received third-party certification of the entire textile supply chain.

By using longer-staple cotton, we have chosen a high quality cotton ensuring incredible softness, durability, deep color saturation. In other words, we are “slow fashion”—and these are garments that are meant to last. We hope Teddy's Cotton pieces are passed to siblings and shared with friends for generations to come.

 Our Tissue Paper

The @NoIssue tissue paper is made from FSC certified paper, is acid free, and is made with soy-based ink.

Our custom tissue paper from @NoIssue is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FCS), ensuring that paper products that make the printed tissue paper are sourced from a forest and supply chain that is managed responsibly and sustainably.

The paper is acid free made from cellulose fiber and is lignin and sulfur-free. This means that the ink won’t transfer from the tissue and the paper won’t leave behind any of these chemicals when decomposing.

The ink is soy-based which is an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum-based inks, made from soybeans, a renewable resource. While soy inks are slower to dry than many inks, the process produces more vibrant colors as well as having the added benefit of not leaving behind petroleum based products when decomposing. Finally, soy inks have low levels of VOCs, reducing air pollution during the drying process. You can learn more here.

 Our Tape

The @NoIssue tape is made from 100% Recycled FSC paper product, Water-Activated & uses Soy based Ink.

The custom tape from @NoIssue is water-activated, which allows them to print on non-glossy/wax-coated paper. The aforementioned materials (gloss and wax) do not break down in composting conditions, nor are they biodegradable, hence why having water-activated paper tape is a positive for packaging sustainably.  Our Partners

Our Fabric Supplier

We source our material from a family run fabric supplier in Los Angeles. We love their fabric, and we love their story, which is why we partnered with them to bring our vision to life.

We’ve come to understand just how important sustainable fabrics are. The highest quality garments start from the raw material, resulting in products that can fill your drawers for generations to come. The higher the quality, the longer it lasts—which translates directly to less clothes in the landfill.

Our fabric supplier is also a second generation business, which we’re proud to support. The CEO grew up in India where he worked at a sweater mill—he then came to the states to work in garment production and swiftly transitioned into fabrics. He continued the partnerships he forged between the growers in India, and now has 20-year-long relationships with them to ensure the quality and transparency of their products. They have been at the forefront of sustainability, starting with the yarn used in their eco collection. They currently have a collection of over 150 different sustainable fabrics, including the very sustainable, GOTS certified yarn we use to produce our onesies.
